Kerry Logistics expands transpacific airfreight services

Kerry Logistics Network has launched new transpacific airfreight services, connecting Asia and the US, in response to increased market demand driven by the pandemic.
The logistics provider said its new services, which are part of the Kerry Freight Controlled Network (KCN), will fly from “from select origins in Asia” including Hong Kong, to Huntsville, Alabama, US, using multiple aircraft.
Kerry Logistics Network added that it is has partnered with Huntsville International Airport (HSV) to establish a hub to support its transpacific KCN air cargo operations.
The company’s Huntsville hub will provide its customers with “with guaranteed space and long-term pricing”, as well as trucking connections to other destinations in North America.
Kevin Bulger, chief operating officer of US at Kerry Logistics Network, commented: “We chose Huntsville as our Americas airfreight hub for KCN as it is congestion free and enjoys expedited transfer of cargo to Latin America and Mexico.
“With cooperation from HSV, we will be able to execute swift dispatch of cargoes to cities within the US and Canada. KCN will be a welcomed service in the increasingly tight air cargo market and meet the demands of customers looking for a lasting and reliable solution to their air freight needs.”
Rick Tucker, chief executive of the Port of Huntsville, added: “Kerry Logistics Network will enhance HSV’s global connectivity and speed to market solutions. We welcome our newest logistic partner to HSV and look forward to a long term, prosperous partnership.”
KCN offers door-to-door multimodal logistics solutions to transport cargo ranging from small parcels to large and oversized cargoes, including dangerous goods and lithium batteries.
Earlier this week, Kerry Logistics Network opened a new office in Lima, Peru as it expands in the Latin America region.
The office offers air and ocean freight services, customs clearance and domestic transportation across the country.
Its target markets include the mining industry, apparel, automotive, high-tech, as well as pharmaceutical.
